FIFA President Gianni Infantino sent a message of thanks to the Tunisian national team following its exit from the 2026 World Cup, praising the performance provided by the players and the enthusiasm shown by the fans throughout the tournament.
Infantino said in a message posted on his official accounts that hosting the world teams in North America was a source of pride, adding that facing the best teams in the world will give Tunisia important experience for the future.

He added that the energy and enthusiasm shown by the Tunisian team and its fans during the tournament was wonderful, expressing his hope that the Carthage Eagles would benefit from this experience in the upcoming tournaments.
Talbi…we were not up to this shirt
On the other hand, Tunisian national team defender Montaser Talbi chose to address the fans with a message containing a clear apology after being excluded from the tournament.
Talbi said that words were no longer enough, stressing that the national team was not up to the standard of the shirt it was defending.
He added: “There are no excuses and no explanations. This is not the time for beautiful speeches, but rather the time for apologies.”
He stressed that the only way to overcome this stage is to continue working, concluding his message by emphasizing that the team will return again, before repeating its slogan: “Long live Tunisia… We will return,” adding the phrase: “We die, we die, and the homeland lives.”
