Football fans around the world are evaluating the 2026 World Cup matches as if they were episodes of a television series on the IMDb platform, in an unusual interactive experience that produced remarkable and surprising results at the same time.
According to these evaluations, in which thousands of fans participated, one of the English national team’s matches currently leads the overall standings, after receiving a high rating of 9.2/10.

On the field, this summer’s tournament, which is held in an expanded system that includes 48 teams in the United States, Canada and Mexico, witnessed a remarkable level of scoring, as 241 goals were scored in just three weeks.
Also, 18 matches in the group stage ended with a difference of three goals or more, which is a clear increase compared to the 2022 World Cup, during which only five matches were recorded with this difference. During that edition, France, Germany and the Netherlands topped the list of teams that scored the most goals in this stage.
This World Cup also records the highest scoring rate in the group stage since the adoption of the 32-team system in 1998, with an average of 2.99 goals per match.
The knockout round matches were no less exciting, as a late goal from Gabriel Martinelli sealed Brazil’s qualification to the round of 16, while Wednesday witnessed one of the most notable comebacks in the tournament’s history, after Belgium defeated Senegal 3-2.
The evaluation platform reveals the most exciting
The Series Graph platform launched an interactive system that allowed thousands of viewers to evaluate each match of the tournament in the manner of series ratings.
As of the moment of preparing this report, England’s match against Croatia in the opening of Group 12 tops the list of highest-rated matches, having received a score of 9.2/10. In second place was the match between Austria and Algeria, which ended 3-3 on June 28, and which witnessed late goals in stoppage time by Riyad Mahrez and Sasa Kalajdzic, achieving a rating of 9.0/10.
The Netherlands also participated in two matches on the top-rated list, as it received 8.8/10 in both its 2-2 draw against Japan on June 14, as well as in its loss on penalties to Morocco, in a match that witnessed a fatal equalizing goal scored by Issa Diop in the last moments.

Lower rated matches
On the other hand, some matches recorded low ratings, as the goalless draw between Australia and Paraguay on June 26 was the lowest-rated match with a score of 4.8/10.
The list of poor ratings also included Ghana’s 1-0 win over Panama with a rating of 5.3/10, in addition to another match for Ghana against England that ended in a goalless draw at Boston Stadium, and received a rating of 5.4/10.
As for the matches of the English national team, their results were mixed in terms of evaluations, as the team did not provide a completely convincing performance during the tournament, although its victory over Panama with a score of 2-0 on June 27 received an average rating of 6.8/10.

Matches that won public praise
Also among the highest-rated matches, Morocco faced Haiti with an 8.6/10, and Brazil versus Japan with the same rating, in addition to Germany versus Paraguay with an 8.5/10, Norway versus Senegal with an 8.5/10, and Argentina versus Algeria, which received the same rating (8.5/10).
