It’s sweltering hot in Europe.

Now it is moving towards Sweden.

Red warnings for heat in Spain

44 degrees in the south – and 40 degrees in the north.

Both in parts of Andalusia and in the Basque Country, red warnings are issued for high temperatures.

In large parts of the rest of Spain, yellow and orange warnings prevail.

The Eiffel Tower closes – the second summer in a row

The Eiffel Tower in Paris closes due to the heat wave.

“Due to the high temperature forecasts, the Eiffel Tower will adjust its operations,” it says on the website.

Temperatures of up to 39 degrees are expected in the next few days in the French capital.

Also last summer, the tower closed temporarily.

Then it was the first time ever that the Eiffel Tower was forced to close due to high temperatures.

Those who have already purchased tickets will be refunded.

SMHI warns of heat

SMHI has issued a yellow warning for high temperatures on Thursday and Friday.

The warning applies to parts of Blekinge and Kalmar counties, where the daytime temperature is expected to reach at least 30 degrees.

“Drink water and take it easy. Keep an eye on the indoor temperature and find ways to cool down,” writes SMHI.
