The Canadian player said in statements on the official website of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA): “This victory was achieved after great effort, and we wanted to win strongly to dedicate it to the Canadian people.”

He added, “We continued to put pressure on our opponent, and I scored a wonderful goal, with a shot that felt like all the Canadian people were shooting with me. All the players made an extra effort until I shot strongly into the net, so I am very happy.”

He continued, “We will try to make our next competitor, whether Morocco or the Netherlands, realize that if they qualify, one of them will face the most difficult matches in the tournament.”
