Anette and Dieter Fransson Blank were going to Greece this morning.
Now they are waiting for the bags at the luggage belt at Arlanda.
– There were technical problems at check-in, says Anette.
Several readers contacted Aftonbladet on Wednesday morning and said that they had missed their flights from Arlanda after problems at check-in.
– It’s a boring start to the trip, says Anette Fransson Blank, who was on her way to Crete with her husband.
According to the couple, the problems started at the Ryanair check-in desk at Arlanda.
– We stood in line for two hours before we managed to get checked in.
The couple then managed to get through security and onto a bus that would take them out to the gate. But once there, the plane had already left.
– We don’t know what is happening now, we hope to be able to find another flight, says Anette.
She has got her luggage back. But they are still waiting for her husband’s bag at the baggage carousel.
– There are probably 200 people who missed this plane, says Anette.
“People jerked at the doors”
Another one who is in the middle of the chaos is Sören who wants to get to Thessaloniki. He describes queues of over a hundred meters to the check-in counter and over an hour and a half waiting time.
– People got angry and it became more and more violent, he says.
Once they arrived at the terminal, but were not allowed to board the plane, people became even more upset.
– People yanked on the doors to try to get out to the plane.
Guards and the police had to be called.
He says some parts of families were allowed to board the plane while others stood in the terminal waiting.
– Several people started shouting at the staff, but they couldn’t do anything.
Aftonbladet is looking for Swedavia.
