France achieved an important victory over its Paraguayan counterpart, setting up a date with Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

While France recorded a possession rate of 76% against Paraguay, its highest percentage in a major tournament since Opta began collecting this data in 1966.
France scored its 150th goal in the World Cup, becoming the fourth team to reach this total after Brazil (246), Germany (243), and Argentina (163), as well as its last 17 penalty kicks in all competitions (including 13 by Kylian Mbappe), and its last failure dates back to June 2021 against Wales (Karim Benzema).
