Angelina Jolie’s51, new role in the upcoming film “Couture” has made the acting star reevaluate the way she looks at her own life, she tells Yahoo Entertainment.
In the film, Jolie plays a filmmaker who meets a romantic partner while receiving the news that she has breast cancer.
– It took a while before I could say to myself: “She can love her daughter, be completely devoted to her and at the same time need this as a woman – and also receive it as a woman”. And actually it can be very healing for her, says Angelina Jolie about her character.
She then opens up about her thoughts about her own dating life after the messy divorce from Brad Pitt, 62.
– To be completely honest, I haven’t dated since I got divorced ten years ago. I must have told myself that that part of me is no longer at the center of my life when I focus on my children and my family.
Gets help from his daughters
The Oscar winner also says that “life has broken her down” a little.
– I think I have to start living again. Be free again.
The mother of six says her three daughters, Zahara21, Shiloh20, and Vivienne17, have all encouraged her to move forward in life and find her way back to who she once was.
– I think they want me to not just be “mother” anymore, she says and continues:
