The speculation about the couple has largely arisen because Melania is so rarely seen by her husband’s side and rarely attends public events.
Advisor Marc Beckman tells Politico that it is a strategic choice.
He believes that the sparing time in the public eye means that she more effectively gets attention for issues that she is passionate about.
Beckman compares the strategy to royalty who “historically kept quiet but had a lot of influence”
One of the issues that Melania Trump prioritizes is the situation of children.
The secret meeting
The site writes about a meeting with politicians from both parties that Melania Trump organized in the Capitol last spring.
She used the meeting to pressure members of Congress to vote for a bill to improve the future of children growing up in foster care.
She called the bill “a moral obligation” and told politicians “I want it on Donald’s desk before August,” a lawmaker who attended told Politico.
Another issue she is involved in is AI and the negative consequences for individuals that faked pictures online can have, especially for children.
“Crack in the White House”
There, Melania Trump has found herself at odds with other forces around the president who advocate development and innovation rather than rules and restrictions.
– There is a certain crack in the White House, I think, says Beckman to Politico.
– The first lady will time and again, and also in the future, take the side that is about protecting the children. Her position is that, no matter what, we must first and foremost make sure that the children are in a safe and secure situation.
The interview also shows that Melania Trump has great ambitions during the remaining years of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Does not support war
He also comments on the speculation surrounding the couple’s life together and the rumors that they are living apart.
Beckman calls the speculation “laughable” and says that “the truth is she lives in the White House.”
– She is with her husband and her son. They all live there, he says.
The interview is also the first time that the circle surrounding the first lady has commented on Melania Trump’s stance on the war against Iran.
– The first lady wants peace. She wants peace in Ukraine, in Russia. She wants peace in Iran. She does not support war, her advisers say.
