Moscow and Kiev exchanged massive air attacks with drones, as the Ukrainian strikes targeted vital and military facilities deep inside Russia, while the Russian attacks caused deaths and caused damage to energy facilities in several Ukrainian cities.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it was able to shoot down a guided missile and 130 Russian drones that targeted several areas of the country. On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it shot down 179 Ukrainian drones over various regions, including the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the response to the Russian war reached the Ufa oil refinery, which is one of the largest oil producers in Russia, located 1,300 kilometers from the front line.
He also announced the targeting of a strategic military industries facility in the Penza region specializing in the development and production of missile weapons components, 600 kilometers from the front line, stressing that “Russia must end its war, and the Russian leadership has every opportunity to achieve that.”
Meanwhile, Ukrainian military intelligence reported targeting the hangars of Russian military aircraft at the Saki base in the Crimean Peninsula, noting that the targeting included the hangars of Sukhoi fighter planes.
In contrast, a Russian attack – targeting 5 gas stations in the Dnepropetrovsk region in southeastern Ukraine during the night – resulted in the death of a woman and the injury of 3 people, according to what the region’s governor, Oleksandr Hansa, announced.
This incident comes as part of a series of intense attacks targeting gas stations in the regions of Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkiv and Dnepropetrovsk.
In another development, two people were killed and five others were injured in the city of Kherson as a result of a drone attack targeting a passenger bus, according to the region’s governor, Oleksandr Prokudin.
The military governor of the Zaporozhye region, Ivan Fedorov, also announced that two people were killed and 15 people were injured after 7 Russian slide bombs were dropped on the city, one of which hit a kindergarten.
Russian forces are using glide bombs – which are launched from launchers at high altitudes and beyond the reach of Ukrainian defenses – to strike their targets using satellite navigation, at a time when the front line still extends about 20 kilometers south of the city of Zaporozhye.
