A five-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a drowning alarm in Nykvarn, south of Stockholm, according to the rescue service.

The alarm from the public came shortly after 3pm on Sunday. When the emergency services arrived at the scene, the boy had been pulled ashore.

– It’s a public bath, so there were a lot of people there, says Anna Larsson, officer on duty at the rescue service.

The boy was flown to hospital by ambulance helicopter.
