The Wiberg family in Paris heard the thunder begin to rumble.
Then lightning suddenly struck the Eiffel Tower.
– We have never seen it before, says Marcus Wiberg, 51.
The weather is starting to turn in the French capital. This evening it started to sprinkle a little rain – and lightning and thunder.
Marcus and Vendela Wiberg live in a suburb in western Paris.
– We were sitting here having dinner when a storm started and the whole sky started to light up. Then the wife went out on the balcony and said “I’m going up to check because there’s lightning and thunder everywhere”. So she stood and filmed and then she managed to get that flash down into the Eiffel Tower, says Marcus Wiberg.
He says that the weather is now starting to get a little cooler.
– Things are starting to turn around a bit now. It will be 27-28 degrees next week. So it becomes more normal, he says.
He says that it used to be unbearably hot.
– If you put it like stepping into a convection oven. That is exactly how it has been.
