The soccer world’s focus is currently on the World Cup.

But it won’t be long before league play is underway again.

And there will be a Swedish meeting directly in the Premier League.

Viktor Gyökeres, 28, and his Arsenal enjoyed success the previous season, winning their first league title in over 20 years. And the London team has a good chance to start next season in a good way as well.

Arsenal open the 26/27 Premier League season at home to newly promoted Coventry, where Swedish goalkeeper Oliver Dovin, 23, is playing.

Early London derby

For Alexander Isak, 26, a much tougher premiere awaits. The Liverpool striker starts next season away from home – against the Newcastle the Swede left on strike last summer.

Lucas Bergvall, 20, and Dejan Kulusevskis, 26, Tottenham start away at Brentford, but that London derby is overshadowed by what lies ahead in the third round. Then Arsenal take on Chelsea and the two childhood friends Mikel Arteta and Xabi Alonso are pitted against each other on each coach’s bench.
