Around 70 years have passed since the legendary film director Orson Welles began work on his film about Don Quixote.
But the film was never completed.
Now film archivists are working in several countries to finally see the light of day.
Orson Welles called his extended film project his heart child. But despite the fact that greats like Frank Sinatra supported it, it didn’t work out, writes The Guardian.
Welles did not want to let go of the project, and filmed the last one. Countless scenes and a large amount of material still remain and now film archivists in several countries around Europe want to collaborate to try to complete the film adaptation of Cervantes “the knight of the sad guise”.
The rescue attempt has received its blessing from Oh Kodar who was Welles’ partner.
