The French national team continues to confirm its position as one of the strongest offensive teams in the history of the modern World Cup, after booking its place in the 2026 World Cup final with a convincing victory over Sweden by three clean goals, raising its score to 13 goals in the first four matches of the tournament.
Not only did the Roosters qualify, but they scored at least three goals in all their matches so far, after they opened their campaign by defeating Senegal (3-1), then Iraq (3-0), before sweeping Norway (4-1), and finally defeating Sweden (3-0).

This offensive series has continued since the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina, when the French team also scored three goals, reaching five consecutive matches in the World Cup in which it scored three or more goals.
The numbers confirm that France became the first offensive reference in the World Cup during the era of coach Didier Deschamps, as the team scored 53 goals in 23 matches since the 2014 edition, which is the highest score for any team during this period.
The French national team is far ahead of its closest rivals, as Argentina and Germany each scored only 37 goals, that is, 16 fewer goals.
France has already surpassed its scoring tally in the 2014 World Cup (8 goals) and 2018 (12 goals), and is only three goals away from the number it scored in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, when it scored 16 goals.
Deschamps’ squad will be able to equal or exceed this number when it faces Paraguay in the World Cup final, if it continues with the same offensive effectiveness that has characterized its journey so far.
