Playstation will end physical discs for its games as of January 2028.
IN a blog post motivates the decision with “changed consumer habits”.
The site Pushsquare writes that the percentage of games that were sold digitally was 85 percent during the first three months of the year.
The announcement comes shortly after Rockstar announced that they will not be releasing a physical version of “GTA VI” when it releases on November 19. The physical edition is there only a code-in-a-box solution.
Sony has also announced that you are coming shutting down the digital stores for PS3 and Vita on all markets this year and next year. It will then be impossible to buy new games while you will still be able to download your already purchased games.
