In what is considered the first of its kind, the final specifications of the upcoming Apple phones, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which the company intends to reveal next September, have appeared, and include the design of the motherboard and the processor chip, as well as live footage of the phone’s drop test, according to a report by the American technical website “Apple Insider”.
The report indicates that these specifications appeared in documents that were previously stolen from the Indian company Tata Electronics by a hacker group, before the group shared these documents via the dark web.
The leak included specifications for the new Apple processor that it intends to use in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max “A20 Pro”, as well as drawings of the processor’s motherboard and documents related to the cellular network connection chip.
The appearance of these documents coincides with the appearance of information about the new processor on the Chinese social network “Weibo”, and they indicate the specifications of the processor and motherboard in more detail than the Tata documents, according to a report by the American technical website “MacRumors”.
In a related context, a Reuters news report confirmed that Apple is concerned about the appearance of these documents online because they relate to models that have not yet been released.
The leaked documents reveal hundreds of parts used in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models, in addition to revealing the network of suppliers working with the company to produce the phone, according to a Reuters report.
Substantial improvements to the processor
The new Apple processor gets a new set of improvements that enhance its performance in line with the new artificial intelligence functions that the company intends to integrate into the system.
The new improvements include the use of the new 2-nm manufacturing architecture of the Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), and this technology enhances performance by about 15% in speed and 30% in energy efficiency, according to a report by the “McRoomers” website.
Power consumption is one of the aspects that will witness significant improvements in the new processor, as Apple also relied on a new manufacturing technology called “WMCM” where the dynamic random access memory resides next to the application processor instead of being above it as was the case in old technologies.
This manufacturing technology contributes to reducing energy consumption and reducing response time and transition between applications. But it causes heat to concentrate in the area surrounding the memory and processor.
By changing the design of the motherboard, Apple is trying to dissipate the heat generated by the new processor manufacturing mechanism and not concentrate it in a specific area, in addition to using vapor cooling chambers that appeared in previous generations of the iPhone 17 Pro.
While the leaks did not reveal the materials from which the final phone body will be made, it will most likely be aluminum like the previous generation so that it can dissipate heat better.
According to the McRoomers report, the size of the NPU in the A20 Pro processor appears larger than the previous generation, even though the overall size of the chip is similar to it.
In terms of random memory, Apple relies on the new leading 12 GB LPDDR6 memory technology and a 96-bit memory bus, which contributes to reducing power consumption and increasing the speed of transferring applications to and from memory, according to the MacRoomers report.
The first appearance of the final version of the phone
The “Reuters” report states that the leak from the Indian “Tata Electronics” included video clips of a phone undergoing a drop and durability test, and these clips bear the symbolic names of the “iPhone 18 Pro” phones.
These clips and images date back to the beginning of 2026, which is when Apple should finish manufacturing the phone’s body and begin testing it.
In the clips, the phone appears similar to the design of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but with a traditional gray color, but the code name of the file refers to the iPhone 18.
iPhone is more expensive than before
In a related context, a report by the American technical website “Macworld” revealed the prices of upcoming phones from Apple, which will witness an increase due to the rise in the prices of random memories and components, similar to what happened with the “iPad” and “MacBook” computers.
The report states that the prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will be higher than the previous generation by about $100, which means that the price of the iPhone 18 Pro will start at $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299.

Regarding the price of the foldable iPhone Ultra, the MacWorld report suggests that it will be offered at about $2,500, making it the most expensive phone offered by the company.
The company is expected to launch its budget phones, which include the standard iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2, and iPhone 18e, in early 2027, specifically April.
