Brandsta City Släckers: “Very sad”

Touring and performing as much as they do means tough physical challenges.

– We carry and carry a lot on tour and it is physically demanding to stand on stage as well, so it will be difficult for Olle to fix it, says Borgkvist.

He continues:

– We think it’s very sad, but there is nothing we can do about it other than to hope that everything goes well with Olle now and that he is soon on the road to recovery. He better take care of himself.

If and when Olle Östberg could be back is still unclear.

– The idea is that he will get well and come back, but the future will tell, says the drummer Tom Borjesson66.

However, fans don’t have to worry about the band sounding different.

– Those who know us will miss Olle, of course. But in terms of sound, we have solved it so that Brandsta sounds like Brandsta even without Olle on stage, says Glenn Borgkvist.

The first time they play at “Allsång på Skansen”

They have already managed to play a few gigs without their bandmate and are now set to perform at “Allsång på Skansen”.

Although they have played together since 1994 and had a big hit in 2002 with “Kom och ta mig”, they have never been invited to the program.

– We say as Gert Fylking said; “Finally,” says the bassist Ulf Johansson62, and laughs.

– Yes, now is the time for fans, says Glenn Borgkvist.

Because Sweden’s men are still in the football World Cup and Brandsta’s song “All in för Sverige” is one of the most played WC songs this year, it is obvious what they will drive for something on stage.

– We think it will be a good preparation for the match against France, which is just a few hours after the program, says Tom Börjesson.
