The electronic festival in the Dutch Biddinghuizen started on Thursday and was planned for the whole weekend. But it was canceled early due to heat and all visitors were notified at midnight. reports Nos.
“Dehydration and heat stroke”
“Everyone can experience health problems as a result of this, such as dehydration, overheating and heat stroke,” writes the weather authority KNMI.
It is the first time the Netherlands has issued a red warning due to high temperatures, writes the organizer on Instagram.
“Together with the authorities, we are therefore forced to cancel the remaining days.”
Disappointed visitors
Visitors have expressed their displeasure on social media and some believe that high temperatures are not a valid reason to cancel the festival.
– At a certain point, you reach a breaking point in terms of the safety of your visitors and employees. It’s undoubtedly a code red, says Sander Bijlstramanager of the organizer Q-dance, to the news agency ANP.
