The American comedian and political satirist Bill Maher is awarded the Mark Twain Humor Award.

President Donald Trump was not present when comedian Bill Maher accepted the Mark Twain Award.

But his spirit rested throughout the event at the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Bill Maher was the guest of honor when he received the prestigious humor award on Sunday. During the evening there was healthy joking about Donald Trump. Just as Maher was about to receive the award, the impersonator entered Matt Friend stage and mimicked Trump who said he was willing to accept the award for himself.

It has stormed around Kennedy Center when Trump had a sign put up with his own name on the historic cultural center. However, a court concluded that the measure is illegal and Trump’s name has since been removed.
