Windows 11 has many different options that come into it automatically, and among them there is a group of security features that the company activates to better monitor the device and protect it from cyber attacks.
But some of these features raise concern for data and cybersecurity experts, according to a report by the technical website MakeUseOf, because some of them depend on tracking your use of the device.
There are also additional features that the system does not activate automatically, and you need to activate them manually in order to improve the security of the system. Below is a set of the most prominent of these advantages:
Stop tracking in Windows 11
Windows 11 automatically sends your system usage data directly to Microsoft servers in an attempt by the company to collect more data about its users and proactively solve any problems they may encounter.
But this requires tracking your system usage and sharing that with Microsoft, which bothers some users.
Fortunately, the company has added an option that disables data sharing automatically through Windows 11, and you can also specify the duration for which you want to share data if you prefer.
You can access this option by going to System Settings, then choosing Security and Privacy, then Diagnosis and Reporting. You will find an option to delete diagnostic data and stop sending it to the company.
Advanced security options in Windows 11
The system also includes a set of advanced security options that isolate parts of the system and prevent cyberattacks and malicious applications from directly accessing them.
You can access these options by going to the Security Settings window in Windows and then the Device Security menu.
There you will find a variety of options that may be enabled by default in your system depending on the state of the system and the lifespan of your computer.
These options include securing the computer’s core and its memories, as well as the feature of isolating the memory and maintaining its integrity, in addition to the “TPM” feature, which prevents malicious applications from accessing the core of the system and modifying it. This is one of the features that bothered many users because it is linked to a hardware feature that was necessary to install Windows 11 in the past.
Use biometric security in Windows 11
Some Windows 11 computers come with biometric security features called “Windows Hello,” which is a feature that makes the system recognize the user’s face or fingerprint based on the sensors in the computer.
This feature contributes to turning Windows 11 computers into a convenient tool for installing secure passkeys and using them directly, making them easier to use instead of having to use a mobile phone every time you need to log in using passkeys.

Dynamic lock
This feature is one of the most important features that helps users directly protect their computers if they move from its vicinity or move to other places.
This feature works directly by linking the system lock feature to a Bluetooth device connected to the computer, whether it is a phone, smart watch, or smart speaker.
You can activate this feature directly by connecting your device via Bluetooth, then going directly to the Accounts page in the Windows Settings menu and then activating the dynamic lock feature.
Use an external DNS provider
Windows 11 allows the user to change his Internet settings and choose a so-called Domain Name System (DNS) server from an external company instead of the default server provided by the Internet provider.
DNS can be likened to the “phone book for the Internet.” When you type the name of a site such as google.com, it converts it into a number (IP address) so that your device can access the site.
Changing your DNS can help reduce the tracking of your online activity by some parties. It may provide a higher level of security or speed depending on the service used.
As for how to use it, there are two ways, either by installing a program from the “DNS” service that adjusts the settings automatically, or manually from within the network settings in Windows 11 by entering the “DNS” addresses of your choice.
In other words, Windows 11 gives you the freedom to choose the “directory” that translates website addresses for you, and this may give you better privacy and security while browsing.
