Victor Nilsson Lindelöf’s children looked set to miss the round of 16.
Now Mrs. Maja Nilsson Lindelöf comes with a happy message.
– On Sunday, the mother-in-law, sister-in-law and all the children will come to New York, she says.
A booking miss seemed to set it up for the Nilsson Lindelöf family.
The children, who are at home in Sweden, seemed to miss the chance to see their father play in a World Cup Round of 16.
– It will probably be tough for Maja to make it home. It was the brothers who were responsible for booking the trips and they happened to book the wrong trip home so they stay an extra day in the USA. She’s not too happy about it. It will be tough for her to get back with the children, said Nilsson Lindelöf after the match against Japan.
His wife Maja also gave a progress report.
“Time to go back home (tomorrow because we booked the wrong flight), save my mom from three kids, and then just book another flight. I’ll bring them all next time – they just can’t miss this,” she wrote on Instagram.
Now they don’t have to wait for someone next time.

On Snapchat, she shares a happy message. The children come to New York.
– The day consisted of logistics and planning. That’s how you have to do it in football. So tomorrow I fly to New York and on Sunday the mother-in-law, sister-in-law and all the children come to New York.
– Me and Sebbe (Victor’s brother) are leaving tomorrow and on Sunday my children will join. My children will get to see their father play the WC in New York. It is very unexpected and not planned. We have been trying to find plane tickets for three hours now, we had to find plane tickets for seven.
– I am so grateful that we got this together. I don’t have to go home and the children come here, she says.
Sweden will most likely face France on Tuesday at 23:00. The match is played at MetLife Stadium, or New York/New Jersey Stadium as it is called during the World Cup.
