KARLSTAD. Stefan Holm has got his Jessika Eriksson.
In front of a packed cathedral, the duo said yes to each other.
It was amid much fanfare that the former high jumper and Olympic gold medalist married author and linguist Jessika Eriksson, 50, on Friday.
The wedding was broadcast live in the local media, which also covered the wedding with a television studio outside the church.
In a black tuxedo, Stefan Holm, 50, arrived last of all at the church. By his side, among others, he had his son Melwin Lycke Holm, who also acted as best man.
It was the summer of 2020 that Stefan Holm showed off his new love Jessica Eriksson in a post on Instagram. The couple got engaged two years ago. Jessika Eriksson had flowers in her hair and a white wedding dress.
During the wedding, son Melwin Lycke Holm gave a humorous speech. Jessika Eriksson talked about Stefan Holm’s ability to nerd out on high jump results from the 90s.
There was also the occasional surprise, including when a Stormtrooper appeared in full uniform. A nod to Stefan Holm’s great interest in Star Wars.
To boos, applause and cheers, the bride and groom finally kissed each other.
