A Swedish elite hockey coach was arrested for serious drug smuggling.
Now he has received his punishment.
He is sentenced by the district court to three years in prison.
Sportbladet could tell in April that the ice hockey coach was in custody.
The suspected crime is said to have been committed the day after a series match and he risked up to seven years in prison.
It was three years.
He is sentenced for not having reported 201.8 grams of cocaine to the Customs Service in connection with importation into the country. The package was sent from Spain to Sweden and the crime occurred at the international logistics company Fedex. It is considered serious because it involved a large amount of narcotics.
Activated mailbox
In the verdict, it can be read that the hockey coach had activated a mailbox a week before the package was sent. That’s where the package of cocaine with a street price of SEK 170,000 was sent.
In the verdict, it appears that it strongly suggests that the hockey coach was the one who would receive the package with the narcotics.
The hockey coach has denied any wrongdoing.
“Hadn’t heard a bad word”
When he was arrested last spring, he had left the association. Something that had nothing to do with the suspicions at the time as the club lacked information about it.
– It is terrible. I had not heard a bad word about the man, so it is tragic that this has happened. I am thinking of his loved ones, said the chairman.
