The Sweden Democrats' communications manager Joakim Wallerstein (SD) presents his election posters and the main features of the election campaign ahead of the 2026 election.

The Sweden Democrats (SD) are investing in retro-style election posters that promise to make “Sweden into Sweden again”.

The aim is to evoke nostalgic feelings about a safe and happy childhood from the past.

– Sweden should feel like Sweden once felt, says the party’s head of communications Joakim Wallerstein.

For him, that time was in the early 80s, but it depends on when you were born, he points out.

A new party symbol in the election is a childishly drawn bumblebee.

When asked if SD wants a softer appearance in this election, deputy party leader Henrik Vinge replies that SD is prepared to roll up its sleeves to do tough things both when it comes to immigration, crime and other things.

– But the aim is not that we want a hard society. We want to protect soft values, such as people’s security.
