The US Central Command (Centcom) revealed the daily consumption of eggs by thousands of its soldiers aboard three aircraft carriers currently operating in the Middle East.

Centcom reported that the aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Gerald R. Ford, and USS George H.W. Bush, which operate in the Middle East, consume more than 12,000 eggs daily.

Central Command published a picture of sailors aboard the carrier Abraham Lincoln serving meals to soldiers, noting that – for the first time in decades – three aircraft carriers are operating in the Middle East at the same time.

The three aircraft carriers include more than 200 aircraft and 15,000 sailors and marines, at a time when Washington continues the blockade imposed on ships entering or leaving Iranian ports.

In its latest statements, the Central Command said that its forces have so far diverted 34 ships since the start of the blockade on April 13. In contrast, Iran continues to close the Strait of Hormuz and has detained several ships flying foreign flags.

Washington intensified its military buildup in the Middle East region in conjunction with the faltering resumption of negotiations with Tehran, and US President Donald Trump’s threats to return to the square of confrontation that had stopped on April 8, after a 40-day war between the two parties.

Last week, the American newspaper “USA Today” published a series of photos sent by members of the US military deployed aboard the “USS Tripoli” and “USS Abraham Lincoln” to their families, and these photos show a few plates of food.

The US Navy then quickly denied these reports, describing the reports alleging food shortages and poor quality on board US ships deployed in service as untrue.
