New goalkeeping record in the WC
The 40-year-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer threw the national team gloves on the shelf after the European Championship 2024, but decided to make a comeback before the World Cup.
Now he has set a new record.
Tonight’s match between Germany and Ivory Coast was Neuer’s 21st at the World Cup, passing French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who previously held the record with 20 World Cup appearances.
