Sean Penn is to direct a film about a police officer who was involved in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Bradley Cooper is being considered for the lead role, which is based on a real person, but whose identity has not been released, Variety reports. The plot is described as “an unexpected story of friendship” and will reportedly focus not on the storming of the Capitol, but on the former life of the police.
The film is untitled but has been given the green light. However, it could become a sensitive issue for the film company Warner Bros. future owner company Paramount, whose head David Ellison openly showed his ties to Donald Trumpwho pardoned the majority of those convicted after the storming of the Capitol.
Sean Penn has, among other things, called Trump “an enemy of humanity”.
