The New York Knicks will be NBA champions in 2025/26.
It is the first time in 53 years that the team has won the title.

For the second game in a row, it was an impressive turnaround. San Antonio Spurs was more connected the game over, until the last quarter.
Then the Knicks came to life, and shifted into second gear. With just over three minutes remaining, the New York team took the lead for the second time in the game, after trailing since the score was 6-5 in the first quarter.
The game, played at the Frost Bank Center in Texas, was won by the Knicks 94–90.
– This is a Knicks team that makes history, says HBO Max expert Artin Hojat.
In the final series, the San Antonio Spurs were defeated 4–1.
“He can be canonized!”
Jalen Brunson played great and accounted for 45 points, almost half (!) of the Knicks’ points. That’s the most ever by a Knicks player at one NBA-final in the club’s history.

Brunson was also named the playoffs’ most valuable player. He had trouble finding the words after the match and was visibly moved.

53 years since the last time
On television, Knicks fans could be seen watching the game from a big screen, and at the final whistle wild celebrations broke out. The Spurs fans looked shocked in the stands as the players quickly disappeared from the pitch stormed by the away fans. Including stars Timothée Chalamet, Sydney Sweeney and Ben Stiller.
Prince Harry also stood in the stands and shook hands with NBA director Adam Silver. Swedish hockey legend Henrik Lundqvist, who spent 15 seasons in the New York Rangers, followed the game.

The title will be the New York Knicks’ first in the NBA in over 50 years and the third time ever. In addition, it was the first final series that the New York team played since 1990, which they then lost against the Spurs.
– They have waited many long, blasphemous years for this, says Nouri on air.
The last time the Knicks won was in the 1972/73 season.
