The break will be earlier than expected.
Madelene Sagström, 33, is seven months pregnant.
In the last competition before giving birth, she finished tied for ninth.
The Swede competed in the pairs competition Dow Championship together with her friend Dani Holmqvist.
The duo played well together and finished on ten under par. The result meant a shared ninth place with, among others, Linn Grant and Maja Stark.
Sagström had intended to play in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at the end of June. But she feels that the pregnancy puts an end to the plans.
– When the low left hit started to appear on the first nine holes, I thought: now is probably the time. I still play pretty good golf, but the endurance is not quite there, says Sagström Golf week.
“Should I walk around the belly?”
Continuing to play while she was pregnant has meant a lot of challenges.
– The most fun has actually been all the adjustments I’ve had to make. I have replaced all my clubs. Even this morning I made a slight adjustment to the putting. I thought: should I stand a little more above the stomach now or walk around it?
Sagström hopes to return to the LPGA tour in 2027.
The winners of the pairs competition were the Americans Gina Kim and Yana Wilson at 17 under par.
