Egyptian artist Abdel Aziz Makhyoun suffered a sudden health problem during the past hours, which required his transfer to a private hospital in the capital, Cairo, to receive the necessary medical care. Makhyoun is currently undergoing medical follow-up and undergoing examinations and analyzes to ensure his health condition and follow its developments.
According to local websites, the 80-year-old artist was taken to the hospital after suffering severe pneumonia and shortness of breath. Reports indicated that his health condition is gradually improving, and that he is receiving treatment in a regular room, without the need to remain in intensive care.

Micro-surgery of the brain
Abdulaziz Makhyoun went through a health crisis at the beginning of this year, as a result of which he underwent brain surgery. The operation was followed by a period of medical follow-up and examinations that showed an improvement in his health condition and his response to treatment, which paved the way for his discharge from the hospital after his condition stabilized.
At that time, the Egyptian artist was keen to reassure his fans. Over the course of an artistic career that spanned nearly half a century – which he began in the mid-1960s – Abdel Aziz Makhyoun participated in dozens of cinematic, television and theatrical works, and presented a variety of roles that established his presence among the Egyptian and Arab public.
Makhyoun was able to maintain his artistic presence through his participation in multiple works, during which he moved between different characters and dramatic templates, which made him one of the well-known names in Egyptian drama and cinema over many years.

He worked with director Youssef Chahine in “An Egyptian Story,” with director Atef El-Tayeb in the movie “The Escape,” and with Mohamed Khan in “The Knight of the City.” His film appearances also include “Karnak,” “Hunger,” and “The Well of Betrayal.”
In television drama, he is best known for his character Taha Al-Samahi in the series “Layali Al-Helmeya”, and his series also include “The Republic of Zefta” and “My Aunt Safiya and Al-Deir”. His last participation in the series “Efraj” and “Sawa Sawa” was last Ramadan.
