Albania’s capital Tirana is rocked by protests against the luxury resort near the coastal city of Vlora in which Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is investing.
The tourist complex is supposed to be built in Zvernec on the mainland and the nearby island of Sazan, in the Adriatic Sea. But the protesters say the construction threatens flamingos and other species that nest in protected wetlands nearby.

A major investor is Jared Kushner, who, through his company Affinity Partners, has been welcomed by Albania’s Social Democratic Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The protesters have joined hands with opposition activists who demand the resignation of Rama, accused of corruption.
