After the Israeli military (IDF) crossed the Litani River on Friday, the informal border in southern Lebanon for Israeli presence, the goal is to dismantle the infrastructure built by Hezbollah, eliminate terrorists and remove threats to Israeli civilians, the IDF said on social media.
After intense fighting, the military has, among other things, taken control of the medieval castle of Beaufort, which was built during the time of the Crusaders.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Saturday accused Israel of engaging in “scorched earth tactics” by destroying infrastructure in the country.
