The Council for Coordination of Banking Sector Affairs in Iran said that a cyber attack disrupted the services of 4 major Iranian banks, without detecting any breach of customer data.
On Sunday, official Iranian media quoted the council as saying that the attack targeted a joint communications infrastructure used by the Iranian “Melli” (National), “Tjarat”, “Exports” and “Export Development” banks.

The Council added that the attack prompted technical teams to implement preventive measures, which temporarily affected some banking services.
The Council confirmed that it had not detected any unauthorized access to customer information or deletion of any data, indicating that efforts were being made to restore normal operations.
Iranian banks announced yesterday, Saturday, that a number of their electronic services had been exposed to technical disturbances that affected the implementation of digital banking transactions.
Fars News Agency reported that the malfunction included major banks, including “Milli” (National), “Tjarat”, “Exports” and “Export Development”, as a result of a defect that affected part of the basic services associated with the National Information Services Company.
