Rock icon Rod Stewart was close to fainting during a gig in West Valley City.

Then he stood leaning against the equipment at the side of the stage and was given oxygen.

He then sat down for the rest of the concert.

– The show must go on, he said.

The rock star Rod Stewart81, took the stage on Friday in West Valley City in Utah, USA. But after a while he had trouble breathing and looked like he was about to pass out. Clips from the concert, which TMZ has taken part in, shows how during a song he had to lean on the instruments and equipment.

Then two people came out with an oxygen tube into which he took a few deep breaths. Rod Stewart commented on the incident from the stage.

– The show must go on. I was about to pass out there. Do you mind if I sit down during this song? he said.

The icon then sat down for the rest of the gig.

Canceled several concerts

The incident comes just over a week after Rod Stewart canceled a concert in San Diego due to strep throat. However, he was criticized when he only watched Scotland’s World Cup opener the following day on location in Boston. Even so, he canceled two more concerts in Colorado on Monday and Tuesday.

Earlier this month, he also canceled two shows in Las Vegas on medical advice.
