Denmark’s Queen Margrethe has been discharged from Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, where she was treated for a major bleeding in the hip area.
The queen is on her way back to Fredensborg Castle where she lives, the court announced in a press release on Friday.
It was on Monday that the 86-year-old queen was admitted to hospital. This after X-rays showed a larger pool of blood in the hip as a result of a previous fall.
Barely a week earlier, the Queen was discharged from the same hospital after heart surgery.
Queen Margrethe is known as a royal who has always gone her own way. Formally, she has the role of prime minister after she abdicated in 2024 and handed over the throne to her son Frederik.
