Spanish club Barcelona has begun negotiations with English Manchester United to include Marcus Rashford on loan for another season, according to a news report on Tuesday.
Despite previous speculation about the imminent end of his loan period in Spain, it was reported that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick gave the green light for the English striker to remain with the Catalan team.

Given the financial difficulties that make completing a final transfer deal worth 30 million euros difficult for Barcelona, the Catalan club hopes to reach a new agreement with Manchester United.
Flick agreed to a plan to keep Rashford in Barcelona for another season, and the German coach is still convinced of the value of the English striker in his tactical plan, despite Rashford’s recent struggle to obtain a place on the team’s main roster.
While previous reports indicated the possibility of Rashford returning to Old Trafford, Flick’s support caused the club to change its position towards continuing in Spain.

This decision comes after Rashford contributed to Barcelona’s dominance at the top of the Spanish League, as he scored his 13th goal this season in the team’s recent 2-0 win over Getafe.
Reports indicate that Rashford himself has chosen to remain in Catalonia rather than return to the English Premier League.
Barcelona refuses to activate the purchase clause of 30 million euros contained in the original loan contract, and instead, the club is prioritizing a second temporary loan to manage its financial resources while maintaining the depth of the attacking line.
If Manchester United insist on a permanent transfer, Barcelona would likely seek a significant reduction in the value of the deal, and transfer expert Florian Plettenberg has explained the current state of negotiations.
Plettenberg wrote on his account on the social networking site (X), today, Tuesday, “We have learned that Barcelona is striving to borrow Marcus Rashford for another season. Negotiations with Manchester United are ongoing.”
Plettenberg added, “Barcelona currently does not want to activate the purchase clause of 30 million euros – preferably a second loan, otherwise they want to negotiate a price reduction. In any case, Rashford must stay. With the approval of Hansi Flick.”
Barcelona is on the verge of retaining the Spanish League title for the second season in a row, as it sits at the top of the standings by 11 points ahead of its closest rival, traditional rival Real Madrid, five stages before the end of the current season.
