Yesterday, Monday, Britain’s King Charles III began a four-day state visit to the United States, amid a dispute between the American administration and the British government regarding the war on Iran.
The British King’s visit comes on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States’ declaration of independence from British rule, and it is also the first visit by a British king to the United States in nearly two decades. The state visit is the highest level of official visits in diplomatic custom.
US President Donald Trump received King Charles III and his wife Camilla at the White House under tight security, following the attack that occurred last Saturday during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in the presence of Trump.

Visit programme
Unlike yesterday, Monday, which focused on the official reception at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington and then a tour of the White House, today, Tuesday, will be the day that most includes official stations.
Today, Trump and King Charles III will hold a meeting at the White House, while their wives will participate in an event centered on education and artificial intelligence.
The British King is expected to deliver a speech to the US Congress, which will be the first since Queen Elizabeth II’s speech in 1991.
King Charles III seeks to calm the current diplomatic tensions by addressing historical ties extending over two and a half centuries, with all their vicissitudes.
The two leaders and their wives will have dinner in the evening in a reception hall in the White House, instead of a large pavilion in the gardens usually used for similar occasions.
Tomorrow, Wednesday in New York City, King Charles III and his wife will visit the memorial to the victims of September 11, 2001.
At the conclusion of the visit, the King will meet with participants in environmental conservation operations in Virginia, which indicates that he has continued environmental campaigns for half a century.
Trump’s wooing
King Charles III hopes that this visit will enhance the future of the special relationship between the two allies, which has reached its lowest level in light of the American-Israeli war on Iran.
Trump harshly criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer because of his position of refusing to participate in the war against Iran, and he also belittled the sacrifices made by British soldiers when they fought alongside the Americans in Afghanistan.
Aside from the tense relationship over the war on Iran, this visit will not miss a sensitive file, which is the case of the late businessman accused of sexual crimes, Jeffrey Epstein, and his relationship with former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, brother of the British king.
Andrew – whose reputation and royal status has been damaged by his relations with Jeffrey Epstein – is facing police investigations into these relations. The former prince has denied any wrongdoing.
