Patricia Kamga, 19, had a blast.

The third best hammer throw of all time in Sweden.

Her 72.17 meters was enough for SM gold.

It was hard to decide who was the happiest of Patricia and her older sister Vanessa Kamga, the discus thrower.

The sisters beamed together in a joyous hug after Patricia Kamga’s great throw.

The 19-year-old has developed at a rapid pace in the past year and came to the team championships with a recent personal record of 70.90 meters.

She crushed that.

She threw the hammer a full 72.19 meters, which was enough for SM gold and Sweden’s third longest throw ever.

Passed the EC limit

The throw was also enough to qualify for the EC in Birmingham in August.

– This means a lot. The direct qualification limit for the European Championship is 71.50, so I had the goal of making it today and I feel satisfied and super proud. I feel a sense of relief and want to continue aiming for the Swedish record this summer. I’m hooked, she tells him SVT.

Thea Löfman has the Swedish record of 73.31 meters from 2024.
