Medical sources reported that two Palestinians were killed and others injured today, Saturday, in an Israeli drone bombing of displaced persons’ tents in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, while a child died of his wounds as a result of a previous Israeli bombing.

A medical source at Nasser Hospital confirmed that the child, Walid Youssef Abu Jazar (10 years old), died as a result of his injury as a result of a bombing that targeted western Khan Yunis a few days ago.

This comes at a time when the Israeli occupation army continued to expand its field control in the center of the Gaza Strip, as part of its repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Yesterday, Friday, the Israeli army killed officers and police officers by bombing a civilian car in the middle of the Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll from yesterday to 5, one of whom died from his wounds.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital announced the death of 3 Palestinians and the injury of two in an Israeli bombing that targeted a vehicle in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli march fired at least two missiles towards the vehicle, causing it to burn and leaving martyrs and wounded.

In a later statement, the Gaza Ministry of Interior said in a brief statement that the three martyrs were officers and members of the police force, without providing further details.

Shortly before that, an Israeli drone killed a Palestinian in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, while he was collecting firewood in an area close to the Israeli army’s positions.

Palestinian Walid Magdi Haniyeh was also martyred on Thursday as a result of a bombing carried out by an Israeli march in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, west of Gaza City.

Israeli incursion

In parallel, Israeli vehicles and tanks penetrated east of Al-Maghazi camp and the city of Deir Al-Balah, a distance of approximately 200 metres, with heavy gunfire and the removal of concrete barriers linked to what is known as the “yellow line”, in a move that reflects a new expansion of the areas of control.

The Israeli army is stationed along what is known as the Yellow Line, which is a security strip imposed by Israel inside the Gaza Strip, preventing Palestinians from reaching areas near it.

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that the army currently controls about 70% of the area of the Gaza Strip, in confirmation of the continued expansion of the area it occupies inside the Strip, despite the ceasefire agreement.

Netanyahu’s statements mean that the Israeli army now occupies about 255 square kilometers of Gaza’s area, which amounts to a total of 365 square kilometers, according to Anadolu Agency.

According to Netanyahu’s admissions, Israel expanded its control within the Gaza Strip from 53% of its area when the ceasefire agreement entered into force, to 60% last May 15, and then to 70% currently.

On Friday, Hazem Qassem, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), denounced, in a statement to Anadolu, the continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, and the accompanying displacement and destruction of homes.

He said: “These violations require a clear position from the mediators to pressure the occupation (to stop them).”

According to data from the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement until Thursday resulted in the death of 1,031 Palestinians and the injury of 3,309 others.

In total, since the beginning of the Israeli genocide on October 8, 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been martyred, and more than 173,000 others have been injured, in addition to widespread destruction that affected 90% of the civilian infrastructure.
