NEW JERSEY. England have suffered a setback.

Reece James, 26, risks missing several World Cup matches.

Both midfielder Declan Rice and Reece James have been question marks since the meeting with Ghana (0-0).

At England’s last training session before the group stage match against Panama, only the latter right-back was missing. It is believed to be a previous groin injury that is haunting and keeping James out of action.

Missing the sixteenth

According to information to The Guardian James also looks set to miss the next meeting, assuming England progress to the next round. In case of group victory, the round of 16 awaits in Atlanta, possibly against Senegal.

Reece James started both the opener against Croatia (4–2) and the match against Ghana. The 26-year-old, who represents Chelsea every day, is one of the team’s great leaders.

Midfielder Elliot Anderson also misses the match against Panama due to a minor muscle strain.
