DALLAS. The Swedish supporters have taken over Dallas.

In place are several familiar faces.

– Of course I believe in victory, says racing driver Marcus Ericsson.

The Indycar driver is one of all Swedes who have made their way to Texas for Sweden’s final group stage match against Japan.

But he has a problem.

He has not managed to get hold of any Swedish national team jersey.

– Haha! No, I haven’t found a shirt yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s in the arena, he says, wearing his white t-shirt.

“Magical atmosphere”

However, the former Formula 1 driver at least has a blue-yellow scarf and cap.

– It will just be fun to be there. There seems to be a magical atmosphere at the matches and of course I believe in victory. I have chosen to go here because it fits well into my schedule plus it feels natural to take the chance when the WC is in the USA and we live here, he says.

National team icon Glenn Hysén is standing in the toilet queue inside the match arena. To the tunes of a large group singing “Everyone’s name is Glenn in Gothenburg”, he tries to make it in time.

– It’s fantastic, absolutely insane! Everyone is singing and happy but my bladder is about to burst. I have to go in and empty fast as hell.

Is it the best toilet queue you’ve ever stood in?

– No. I haven’t entered yet!

Two who were there were Tyra Hällgren and Linnea Magnusson.

– It’s the best atmosphere ever. So many Swedes, says Tyra.

Both are wearing cowboy boots and Linnea had a little trick to bring supplies into the arena.

– We have the Swedish flag, some lip gloss, lip pencil and of course a box of snuff. You weren’t allowed to bring any bags, so you make an emergency solution, she says.

In the pictures from the vimlet, Victor Nilsson Lindelöf’s wife Maja can be seen with Victor’s brothers uploading together with the other supporters.

Even former national team players such as Albin Ekdal are in Dallas.

The match against Japan starts at 01:00 – follow it here!
