Lionel Richie canceled his concert in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA on Wednesday night after falling ill during the performance, according to The Wrap.
The 77-year-old singer told the audience that he felt dizzy and ill during the first hour of the concert. During the song “Dancing on the ceiling” he sat down on stage. He later played “Three times a lady” at the piano and then announced an unscheduled break. He never returned.
Concertgoers later stated that band members announced that Richie did not feel well. He has yet to publicly comment on the incident. The gig was the premiere of his joint tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. The next concert is scheduled in Chicago on Friday, but it is not yet clear if the incident will affect that performance.
