Thousands of protesters marched through Albania’s capital Tirana on Saturday, critical of the construction of a luxury hotel invested in by Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
The protests have been ongoing since the end of May, and AFP describes Saturday’s gathering as one of the largest yet.
The resistance is based on frustration over what is perceived as corruption, and among other things protesters have directed the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The tourist complex is supposed to be built in Zvernec on the mainland and the nearby island of Sazan, in the Adriatic Sea.
