Brazil’s Supreme Court on Tuesday sentenced Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, to more than four years in prison for urging the United States to impose sanctions on Brazil.
The calls came in connection with the trial of the father, who was sentenced to a 27-year prison sentence for trying to stage a coup after his election loss in 2022.
Bolsonaro the Younger is also barred from holding public office for eight years after the sentence.
