Moroccan international Abdel Samad Zalzouli, Real Betis player, continues his brilliance with the Andalusian team, which was a major shock to his parent club Barcelona, which is now threatened with losing a large sum of money if the player is sold to any other team in the future.
Al-Zalzouli (24 years old) moved from Barcelona to Real Betis in the summer of 2023 in a deal amounting to 7.5 million euros (about 8.1 million dollars), with the Catalan club retaining 50% of the value of any future sale.

Last February, Betis obtained an additional percentage of the value of any potential sale of Zalzouli, after Barcelona cut off the loan of Brazilian Vitor Roque in order to sell him to Palmeiras.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Real Betis will receive 80% of the value of selling Al-Zalzouli’s contract, with only 20% remaining for the Catalan club.
Barcelona regretted Al-Zalzouli’s brilliance
Zalzouli continues his brilliance with Real Betis this season, and last Friday he played a great match against Real Madrid in the 33rd round of the Spanish League, which ended in a positive 1-1 draw.
The newspaper confirmed that Al-Zalzouli is one of the main pillars of Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, and this season he contributed 24 goals (scoring 12 and making the same) in 38 matches in all tournaments.
Given these numbers, the Andalusian club is anticipating significant financial gains from its potential sale in the upcoming summer transfer market, especially since the player will be with the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup finals, which may increase his market value further.
Seismic price
Real Betis management estimates its current price between 40 and 50 million euros (about 43.2 and 54 million dollars), amid interest from a number of English Premier League clubs in including him, in addition to Barcelona considering the possibility of bringing him back as an option to strengthen the left side if Marcus Rashford is not contracted.
Al-Zalzouli is currently experiencing his best period with Real Betis. After returning from an ankle injury he suffered in the European Conference League final against Chelsea last season, he returned to provide a remarkable performance throughout the current season.
Zalzouli had previously stated: “I am certain that this will be my best season with Betis,” which is practically true on the field, given his numbers.
