76% of website developers and designers are concerned about artificial intelligence technologies and the rapid development occurring in them, and view them as the greatest threat to their business and future, according to a report published by the American “Tech Radar” website.
The report is based directly on a recent study on the impact of artificial intelligence on the website design and development sector, and although there are some differences between the participants in this study, the common feature between their views is the fear of website development and design platforms that rely on artificial intelligence.
75% of web developers participating in the study confirm that artificial intelligence has indeed negatively affected their business over the past year, stressing that reaching new customers has become more difficult than before.
According to the study, artificial intelligence provides its clients with a faster and less expensive opportunity to create, develop and launch websites compared to what human designers provide.
Anxiety is not the whole story
The data contained in this study is consistent with a previous report published by the Washington Post last month, as the report confirmed that the jobs of web designers and website developers are the most exposed to artificial intelligence technologies.
But this does not mean that web designers and developers are vulnerable to being completely replaced by artificial intelligence tools, according to the report, because they are able to adapt to using new tools and integrate them into their work style.

Some website industry leaders believe that designers who are able to adopt artificial intelligence technologies will not face a threat to their business from this technology, but rather it will give them an opportunity to increase their business, according to a report by the “Tech Radar” website.
While speaking to the aforementioned website, Harry Roper – CEO and founder of a website design agency – likened artificial intelligence techniques to a steam engine and presenting it for the first time, adding, “The question is not whether artificial intelligence will eliminate your job, but how you will use artificial intelligence to perform it.”
A stream of tools
During the recent period, the website design and image design sector in general witnessed the emergence of more than one generative artificial intelligence tool with professional results close to human capabilities, the most recent of which is “GPT Images Chat 2.0”, which was introduced by “Open AI” on April 21 of this year.
While there are tools capable of building and designing websites completely from scratch, the majority of developers rely on a combination of different tools that help them build the site and publish it online.
These tools include several different aspects, starting from tools for generating interfaces, choosing colors and designing them, to tools for generating images and texts that are used on the site, through to programming tools with artificial intelligence that enable the user to build the site in the way he desires.
Thanks to these tools, it no longer requires extensive programming experience and a number of necessary technical skills as was the case in the past. Perhaps this is the real reason that raises concerns for website designers and developers, as in the end some customers will turn to artificial intelligence tools without needing them.
