Now the future is clear for Leo Carlsson, 21.

He stays with the Anaheim Ducks and is the highest paid in the NHL.

The Anaheim Ducks announced on Thursday that the organization has chosen to match the Philadelphia Flyers’ monster bid for Leo Carlsson.

– It was an easy decision, says Duck’s owners Henry and Susan Samueli the website.

The Swedish 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract worth 18 million dollars, approximately 174 million kroner, per season. That means he becomes the highest paid player in the NHL of all time.

– We have very high expectations for Leo and are convinced that he will continue his development curve and become one of the league’s best centers while he continues to make a big impression in our local community, say the owners.
