There is a tailwind in Karlstad.
Samuel Ekelund, 22, and Niklas Wall, 23, took advantage of the weather conditions and each struck with a super jump in the long jump competition.

Eight meters is a dream limit for long jumpers.
Samuel Ekelund and Niklas Wall each had a super jump in the Grand Prix competition in Karlstad. Both crossed the dream limit but there was too strong a tailwind for the results to be accepted as any official record.
Ekelund jumped 8.04 meters (+2.9 in the wind) and Wall’s jump was measured at 8.11 meters (+3.9).
– Now they have blown that limit of eight metres, so I think it will be easier now to jump eight metres, says Wall to SVT.
Finished first and second
He talks about his feelings right after.
– Joy, very much joy. It has been the limit of dreams. There is some kind of shock and you just scream out and are very happy, says Wall.
Ekelund was first in the competition to jump over eight meters.
– That Samuel Ekelund would pound with 8.04. I didn’t see that coming, says SVT expert Alhaji Jeng in the broadcast.
Wall and Ekelund finished first and second in the competition.
For a result to count as an official record, the tailwind must not exceed +2.0 meters per second.
Wall’s personal best is 7.85 meters and Ekelund’s slot his own personal best during the competition when he jumped 7.80 meters with an approved wind.
