The Swedish pop legend has shared VG’s front page as it looked just after Erling Haaland shot Norway to the World Cup quarter-finals with his two goals against Brazil.
“Congratulations on the big win and the party, you’ve shown us all that the impossible really is doable,” writes Carola Häggkvist, 59.
Haaland fever
Carola writes the post in Norwegian. Together with Norwegian ex-husband Runar Sögaard, she has a son, Amadeus Sögaard Linderoth, 28, who is a football professional in Florida.
On Instagram Story, Carola has also shared a total of 15 pictures or videos that have to do with the Norwegian success – the vast majority with Erling Haaland in focus.
Zara Larsson: “I’m Norwegian”
Carola is not the only Swedish singer who is lyrical after the Norwegian show.
Zara Larsson, 28, also pays tribute to the neighboring country on social media.
“I’m Norwegian”, she writes briefly in a story on Instagram.
Pernilla Wahlgren, 58, has shared a clip of Erling Haaland with the text: “EVERYONE’S new idol!”
“Big congratulations, Norway! What a hell of a match”, she also writes.
Norway’s quarter-final against England will be played on Saturday, at 11 p.m.
