Lightning has struck a power line.

You read that right.

Lightning struck a power line on Energivägen.

– It sounded brutal, says a pizzeria owner nearby.

The emergency services were called to Energivägen in Tyresö, south of Stockholmafter lightning struck on Friday afternoon.

A wire hangs down over the road and tall vehicles cannot pass.

The road has been blocked off.

– It’s a wire that has come loose from a high-voltage stand, Mikael Lundqvist, officer on duty at the rescue service.

“Sounds like a bomb”

The owner of a nearby pizzeria was outside, about 50 meters from the impact.

– It sounded like a bomb and black smoke came, he says.

The pizzeria owner says that the street lights shook and that the power went out, but that the electricity has now returned.

So lightning struck a power line on Energivägen?

– It’s still thundering – the energy stays here.
